The New Jersey Credit Union League’s 2010 Awards Program has officially launched. We are so happy to bring a revamped Awards Program to our member credit unions this year, with a few different ways to honor your credit unions, but also your employees as well.

This year’s awards include the following:
• CEO of the Year Award — This award is to honor and recognize the work, intelligence, initiative and accomplishments of a credit union CEO over the course of the past year.
• Volunteer of the Year — This award is to honor and recognize the work, intelligence, initiative and accomplishments of a credit union board member over the course of the past year.
• NEW FOR 2010: “Difference Maker” Award — This award specifically recognizes a credit union staff member that not only executes the credit union’s mission, but guides the mission into new and different directions.
• NEW FOR 2010: Credit Union of the Year Award — This award recognizes a credit union that has made great strides in innovation, while surviving and thriving in a difficult economy over the past year.
• REVAMPED FOR 2010: Catherine L. Miller & Alexander Kosobucki Marketing & Communications Award — This award recognizes the best marketing and communications piece your credit union has done over the past year. It can include anything from a new Web site to a great issue of your newsletter, or a product promotion.

Also included in the awards program are the three national awards: Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action, Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Recognition Award, and Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award. The NJCUL Awards Committee will judge these awards on the state level and winners will be passed on to the national level competition.

The entire Awards book can be found here.

Please take a few moments to review all of the award categories in detail. Entry forms are included with award descriptions. The deadline for submission for NJCUL’s Awards Program (including the national awards) is close of business on July 16, 2010.

Winners will be chosen by an unbiased committee of credit union leaders and will not include any League staff. If you would like to participate in the committee, please contact Candice Nigro at cnigro@njcul.org 800-792-8861 ext. 110.

The winners will be announced at the 2010 Annual Meeting & Convention in Atlantic City on October 3-5, 2010.

For more information or for questions regarding the awards program, please contact Candice Nigro at cnigro@njcul.org or 800-792-8861 ext. 110 or Sandy Langere at slangere@njcul.org or 800-792-8861 ext. 115.
