In 1987, Yvette Segarra joined the New Jersey Credit Union League staff as a receptionist. Now, 30 years later, she is the Manager of Member Experience, Conferences & Special Events. Yvette works in almost all areas of the League’s business and is the League’s longest tenured employee. Her passion for the credit union movement is evident, as many of the members and vendors consider her the heart and soul of the New Jersey Credit Union League and the embodiment of the “people helping people” philosophy.

Yvette oversees all of the League’s special activities and events, including the Annual Golf Tournament, Reality Check Conference, and other events. She also manages the League’s Annual Meeting and Convention, from soliciting exhibitors, speakers, décor, entertainment, food, and venue choice. Yvette is involved in all areas of this premier event. She takes her role very seriously, working hard to ensure all credit unions, regardless of asset size are treated fairly. 

Aside from her event planning duties, Yvette enjoys helping our member credit unions with their Reality Fairs throughout the state. 

In 2013, she was named a “Credit Union Rock Star” by CUNA’s Credit Union Magazine.

Prior to joining the League, Yvette worked for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in New York City. Herself an organ donor, she is very involved with the New Jersey Sharing Network, which educates the importance of Organ and Tissue Donation. In her spare time, when not with her daughter and grandchildren, she travels extensively or is in the kitchen preparing gourmet meals.
