Since joining the New Jersey Credit Union League’s Marketing Department in January of 2010, Marissa Anema has held the positons of Marketing & Communications Assistant, Coordinator, and Manager before being named Vice President of Marketing & Communications in December of 2016.

In this position, Anema is responsible for the branding and marketing campaigns for the New Jersey Credit Union League as well as its subsidiary, the NJCUL Services Corporation, and its 501(c)3 non-profit, the New Jersey Credit Union Foundation. She also drives the League’s statewide consumer awareness campaigns.

Taking a more hands-on role with the New Jersey Credit Union Foundation over the years, Anema was named Executive Director of the Foundation in August of 2016. She leads the Foundation’s fundraising and grant-giving initiatives and continues to oversee the Financial Reality Fair program, which she helped develop and launch in the fall of 2010.

Anema also serves as the New Jersey delegate for the National Youth Involvement Board and serves on the New Jersey Coalition for Financial Education Board of Directors. She earned her certification as a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) in 2014.

Prior to joining the League, Anema assisted a small wholesale company in Bayville, N.J. with its administrative and marketing needs, and helped high school and college students with reading and writing skills as a Writing Tutor at The Richard Stockton of New Jersey and as a Verbal Tutor at Kaplan Test Prep.

Anema received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, with a minor in Writing, from The Richard Stockton of New Jersey (now Stockton University) in 2007, graduating with honors. During her time at Stockton, she spent a semester interning with the PBS Television program “To the Contrary” through The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars in Washington, DC.

An aspiring yogi, Marissa is currently enrolled in a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification program.
