Bay Atlantic Federal Credit Union is seeking a Marketing Specialist/Business Development Representative

TITLE:   Marketing Specialist/Business Development Rep

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

Salary Range:  $37,000 to $40,500

Purpose:

Responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing plan for the credit union.  Provide research activities on marketing trends within the industry.  Recommend marketing strategies.  Complete legal filings for regulatory compliance.  Perform a variety of creative and support duties related to the marketing function within the credit union.

Develop new business for the credit union.  Cultivate new and maintain existing relationships for all facets of SEG sponsorships and individual members

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the overall strategic marketing plan.
  • Research industry trends and demographics in the field of membership and develop recommendations for products and services or marketing programs. Keep abreast of changing trends in the marketplace so the credit union may react quickly and competitively.
  •  Envision creative marketing and public relations concepts. Design, develop and implement marketing and public relations programs for the credit union.  Track and evaluate results of programs.  Update or change as appropriate to ensure effectiveness.   
  • Coordinate member surveys. Interact with members to research member needs.  Analyze member feedback and report on results.
  •  Develop, implement and analyze marketing promotions. Utilize a variety of computer applications in the design and implementation of marketing materials.
  •  Ensure all marketing and public relations materials comply with state and federal rules and regulations. Keep abreast of changing rules and regulations.
  •  Plan, coordinate and execute marketing campaigns over all channels – in house, email, and social media.
  •  Manage vendor relationships and contracts for marketing materials.
  •  Help train staff in cross-selling and marketing techniques.
  •  Handle member inquiries regarding promotional and marketing programs.
  •  Maintain contact list of potential SEGs and current SEGs.
  •  Attend Chamber and other community events to develop new business prospects and promote Bay Atlantic FCU.
  •  Prepare member information packets for all solicitations, develop customized solicitations where needed, and monitor inventory of marketing support material.
  •  Answer requests for additional BAFCU information from prospective membership groups, perform service presentations for these groups, and coordinate sign-up schedules with new member groups, or within existing groups.
  •  Complete new SEG on-boarding process
  •  Serve as a liaison between new groups and all credit union departments and offices until sign-ups are completed and payroll or ACH services are established. 
  • Cultivate relationships with key personnel at existing SEG’s to maintain BAFCU’S position as a benefit to the company’s employees; develop programs to increase membership penetration rate; schedule and coordinate all on site SEG calls with the company.
  • Contact (courtesy calls) and visit prospective SEGs and current SEGs.
  • Respond to staff questions regarding BAFCU field of membership and maintain updated member group listings.
  • Represent BAFCU at various events including league functions and performs public relations at civic and community events as necessary.
  • Prepare and mail/email monthly SEG packets.
  • Plan and coordinate upcoming events, promotions or seminars.
  • Maintain annual calendar of events and promotions.
  • Prepare correspondence relating to marketing business and business development.
  • Disseminate information to Ambassadors and resolve questions related to business development, SEG and member relationships.
  • Maintain inventory of marketing supplies/brochures. Place orders and reorders to replenish inventories.
  • Other marketing, business development, or public relations duties as assigned or as market conditions dictate.
  • Assist in any other related duties and assigned
  • Participate in BAFCU’s Fundraising events
  • May need to lift or carry objects weighting up to 25 lbs.

 

Qualifications:  College degree in marketing or public relations preferred but equivalent work experience and knowledge of the credit union industry will be considered.
