CUNA Engaged with Senate FSGG Markups This Week

CUNA will be engaged as Senate appropriators markup financial services and general government (FSGG) appropriations legislation for fiscal year 2019 this week, paying close attention to allocations for several important credit union funds, including the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund and NCUA’s Community Development Revolving Loan Fund.

The Senate Appropriations FSGG sub-committee will mark up the FSGG Appropriations Act of 2019 Tuesday, starting at 11 a.m. (ET). The full committee will mark up the FSGG bill, among others, starting Thursday at 10:30 a.m. (ET).

Other hearings CUNA is engaged with this week include:

  • Wednesday, 10 a.m. (ET): House Appropriations Committee markup of FY2019 State and Foreign Operations; Health and Human Services; and Education Appropriations bill.
  • Wednesday 10 a.m. (ET): House Financial Service Committee hearing, “Empowering a Pro-Growth Economy by Cutting Taxes and Regulatory Red Tape;”
  • Wednesday, 10:15 a.m. (ET): Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, “U.S. Agency for International Development Resources and Redesign;”
  • Wednesday, 2 p.m. (ET): House Financial Services sub-committee on terrorism and illicit finance hearing, “Illicit Use of Virtual Currency and the Law Enforcement Response;” and
  • Wednesday 2:30 p.m. (ET): Senate Banking sub-committee on national security and international trade hearing, “Combating Money Laundering and Other Forms of Illicit Finance: How Criminal Organizations Launder Money and Innovative Techniques for Fighting Them.”
