TOMS RIVER, N.J. – The popular and growing New Jersey Credit Union Financial Reality Fair program made its sixth trip to the main campus of Ocean County College in Toms River on Thursday to bring the hands-on financial literacy experience to 15 “First Year Experience” classes. This Fair served as a milestone for the program, marking its 60th Reality Fair conducted since the program began in 2010. Reality Fair have reached out over 7,100 students throughout the state.
This was the first year that Ocean County College made the Reality Fair program a co-curricular requirement for the college’s entry-level course. Around 100 students gathered in a large conference room for a brief orientation then were set loose to build their hypothetical lifestyles, pretending they just graduated and have started working in an entry-level position in their field of study.
