ABCO Federal Credit Union Holds First Reality Fair in Conjunction with CASA 'Aging Out' Seminar

WESTAMPTON, N.J. – ABCO Federal Credit Union hosted its first Reality Fair with the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Burlington and Mercer Counties Inc. yesterday as part of the organization's 'Aging Out' seminar.

IMG 1418
CASA's Aging Out seminar allowed students to sit in on different sessions, including a youth speaker panel, education and career sessions, the New Jersey Credit Union Foundation's Financial Reality Fair and more to help guide and mentor youth aging out of the foster care system.

Students from CASA were given an online survey to provide financial information, including estimated annual salaries and credit scores, which the New Jersey Credit Union Foundation used to create customized budget worksheets for each student.

New Jersey Credit Union League (NJCUL)'s Marketing and Communications Specialist, Natalie Spangenberg, led students through an orientation before letting them navigate through the Fair’s lifestyle booths, where they spoke with volunteers about different budgeting and lifestyle choices. After visiting each booth, students then sat down with financial counselors to learn from their experience and receive advice on how they managed their finances.

Thank you to the volunteers from ABCO FCU, the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Burlington and Mercer Counties Inc. (CASA), The Superior Court Family Division-Mercer and Burlington Counties, The Division of Child Protection and Permanency-Local Burlington and Mercer Offices, The Rutgers Child Advocacy Center, and The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders for another successful Reality Fair!
