CU Professionals from Three CUs Complete Financial Counselor Training

HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. – Credit union professionals from Credit Union of New Jersey, Members 1st of NJ FCU, and Princeton FCU completed Part 2 of Financial Counselor Training (FiCEP) offered here in New Jersey through a partnership between NJCUL, the National Credit Union Foundation, and CUNA.

The group passed the Part 1 exams in July. They gathered at the League on Thursday for the Part 2 exam and training provided by the National CU Foundation’s Andy Johnson.

Three students from Advanced Financial FCU, Deepwater Industries FCU, and Bridgeton Onized FCU. Took the exam to become recertified.

A few more students from Princeton FCU, United Teletech Financial FCU, and XCEL FCU will take the final exam and the recertification exam in December.

Upon completion of the final exam with a passing grade, a total of 14 students will earn their designation as Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors (CCUFCs) and 6 students will be recertified in 2018.

This is the fifth year the League has partnered with the National CU Foundation and CUNA to bring the FiCEP program to New Jersey. Over 60 credit union professionals have become certified in the state.
