TRENTON, N.J. – Hamilton Horizons FCU in partnership with Beyond Expectations hosted a mini Reality Fair for a Trenton Youth Group at the First Baptist Church in Trenton on Saturday.
The group of students ranged in educational level from 6th grade up to freshman year of college.
The Beyond Expectations youth group poses with the Wheel of Reality and shows off their backpacks after completing the Reality Fair.
Volunteers from Hamilton Horizons FCU, Beyond Expectations, Credit Union of New Jersey, and the New Jersey Credit Union Foundation took time out of their weekend to spend with the students, going over their lifestyle choices and budget worksheets. Most of the students discovered they were going over their budget and had to re-work some of their choices with the help of the volunteers.
“I sincerely appreciate all of you taking time to present the Reality Fair to our Beyond Expectations students,” said Beyond Expectations Executive Director Leontyne Anglin. “This group of teens in particular is eager and quite interested in expanding their learning beyond our ongoing Media Program trainings. I had a strong sense that this topic would resonate and they would take the information to heart.”

The New Jersey Credit Union Foundation has 12 other Reality Fairs scheduled for this school year (listed below) and is in need of volunteers. To volunteer, please send an email to Marissa Anema at firstname.lastname@example.org.
