Credit Union Solutions Consultant

The New Jersey Credit Union League has an immediate opening for a Credit Union Solutions Consultant.

Position Objective

 

Maximize value and relevance of the League to member credit unions by presenting best-in-market business solutions to credit unions.  Execute annual sales and content marketing plans with and on behalf of partners as per agreement.  Ensure member credit union servicing aspects and program notifications, as they relate to the various credit union solutions, are completed in a timely manner. Be one of the most direct connections to the League by virtue of ongoing interactions with members.

 

  1. Marketing, Business Development, Sales & Product Execution
    • Represent the League and maintain relationships with credit unions and management staff through credit union appointments, phone calls, presentations and events.
    • Actively promote affiliation to the League by delivering unrivaled value of products and services and promoting all benefits of League membership.
    • Assure that the value and relevance for credit unions are the topmost priority, on par with NJCUL’s bottom line.
    • Consult with credit unions to uncover pain points and business needs to create value of Business Partner solutions.
    • Distribute and coordinate valuable content compelling to the pain points of the credit unions via electronic media.

  2. Business Partner Relationships
    • Maintain an ongoing dialog with business partners.
    • Execute annual sales and content marketing plans on behalf of partners, in conjunction with the Marketing department.
    • Ensure the account management system is updated with field activity with business partners.
    • Actively participate in pipeline meetings and schedule field visits where appropriate with business partners and have a solid understanding of product/solution offerings.

  3. Member Relations & League Engagement with Credit Union Members
    • Reinforce the NJCUL membership value proposition wherever possible.
    • Assure maximum affiliation including retention of existing members and affiliation of non-members. 
    • Assure one-on-one staff engagement with each member credit union.
    • Ensure the account management system is updated with field activity with member credit unions.
    • Attends events and meetings as assigned.

  4. Program Administration
    • Acts as the day to day servicing contact for all programs, including, but not limited to: program notifications, member credit union program inquires, client service resolution, etc.
    • Completes and submits monthly reporting to track individual and program performance.
    • Maintain professional & technical knowledge by attending educational sessions/workshops, reviewing trade journal publications, attend appropriate networking opportunities.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

Skills Requirements

 

  • Prior marketing, business development, and sales experience
  • Entrepreneurial - proactive, creative, self-motivated and innovative
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate, skilled in word processing, database management and spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of conducting webinars, blog facilitation and utilizing social media
  • Prior experience with an account management system is a plus
  • Prior experience with Shared Branching is a plus
  • Prior credit union experience or knowledge of the industry is a plus
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Able to multi-task and execute to plan

Educational and Licensing Requirements

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales Management, or Marketing or related field. Minimum of 2 years in a Marketing/Sales/Business Development or similar role.  Combination of education and experience will be taken into consideration for this position.

Standard P&C and Life and Health Insurance Licenses (or ability to obtain them)
