...Network and Collaborate

Between its network of New Jersey credit unions, its Business Partners, and the Foundation, NJCUL membership encompasses a vast network of credit union industry experts, leaders, volunteers, employees, and more. And the League's events give all of these groups a chance to network and connect with one another. As demonstrated by our Small Credit Union Collaboration Group and our Young Professionals network, we tailor our networking groups to the specific needs of our credit unions. Our larger events, such as the Reality Check conference and the Foundation's Casino Night, give credit union folks of all backgrounds and levels the opportunity to mix, mingle, learn, and connect.

Small Credit Union Collaboration Group
This group was formed in the fall of 2014 after visits to two small credit unions unveiled the need for leaders of smaller shops to have a venue to network and share ideas and challenges. Often leaders of these organizations are engrossed in the day-to-day operations, which is a huge obstacle for most to get out of the office and network. The group meets at the League office three times a year for open dialogue of successes and challenges, but the real value of the group happens throughout the year as members call upon each other as needed. Reality Check Conference Collaboration
In 2017 and 2018, the New Jersey Credit Union League partnered with MD|DC Credit Union Association and Pennsylvania Credit Union Association to offer a more robust program while keeping true to this unique “boutique” conference experience. In 2019, the New Jersey Credit Union League will once again partner with the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association and a new partnering league: The New York Credit Union Association. This tri-state collaboration gives credit union leaders the opportunity to connect with others from neighboring states. This event will be held at the beautiful Borgata in Atlantic City on February 18-21, 2019.

NJCUL Golf Outing
The annual NJCUL Annual Golf Tournament benefits NJCUL’s public policy initiatives and helps increase awareness and visibility of the state’s credit union movement among opinion leaders and policy makers in Trenton and Washington. It's also a great way for credit union leaders and vendors to network on the greens. Save the date for the 31st Annual Golf Tournament: May 21, 2019.

NJ CU Foundation's Casino Night
The New Jersey CU Foundation’s premier fundraising event, the annual Casino Night gives credit union leaders, industry partners, the League, and the Foundation the chance to mix and mingle in a fun, informal setting for a good cause.

Young Professionals Network
The League’s YP Network gives young professionals the opportunity to network with fellow under-40 credit union professionals. This network also serves as a resource for seasoned professionals looking for perspective from younger generations for staffing, banking needs, etc. The League brings the YP Network together each year at a free session at its Convention for the YPs to network as well as learn from seasoned leaders.

Chapter Meetings
Chapter meetings serve as great networking events as well as forums to learn about various issues facing the industry. Chapter meetings are not limited to credit unions in that chapter only. All meetings are open to any NJCUL member credit union, regardless of their chapter affiliation. Please feel free to attend any chapter meeting to mix and mingle!
