Bay Atlantic FCU is seeking a Chief Financial Officer

REPORTS TO: CEO/President
SALARY RAGE: $56,000 to $73,000

Purpose:

Oversee and manage the financial and accounting functions of the credit union. These functions include all aspects general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, investments, budgeting and financial analysis. Direct and train Accounting Department staff to assist with or perform accounting and reporting responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure ALM model parameters are appropriate for the credit union and resultant reports accurately reflect interest rate and liquidity risks.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures for the Accounting/Finance Department. Ensure that policies and procedures, meet current GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare monthly Board Financial Reports. Administer the Board of Directors portal, including preparation and publication of ALCO and Board Meeting Packages.
  • Prepare and file quarterly 5300 Call Report.
  • Prepare and file Form 945 Annual Return of Withheld Federal Income tax.
  • Prepare and file Form 720 Quarterly Federal Excise Tax Return, second quarter only, to remit Participant Fees for the credit union’s HRA.
  • Prepare and file Annual Report of Deposits and Reservable Liabilities – FR 2910a.
  • Prepare US Economic Census Survey when receive notice from US Dept. of Commerce, Economics and Statistics Administration.
  • Chair the Asset/Liability Management Committee, prepare agenda and ensure committee has complete and accurate information to make informed decisions.
  • Provide guidance regarding investment decisions.
  • Assist with lease negotiations and major purchasing decisions for capital equipment or other capital asset expenditures.
  • Serve as the credit union liaison with regulatory agency examiners and auditors.
  • Implement all module of Wisdom Suite. Write procedures for routine ALM operations and ensure staff is appropriately trained to perform those functions.
  • Assist in any other related duties or assignments as needed.
  • May need to lift or carry up to 25lbs.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Credit Union experience preferred. CPA or MBA a plus.

Interpersonal skills and communications.

Physical Requirements:

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
