Payday Alternative Loans (PALs)

The CU Solution to Payday Lenders

Thursday, February 14, 2019

10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. (EST)

Summary:

Is the NCUA’s Payday Alternative Loan (PAL) in your credit union’s member solutions tool box?

If not, join NJCUL’s Senior Vice President of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs, Nicola Foggie, Thursday, February 14th, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (EST), for a FREE compliance webinar that takes a look at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s recent announcement that is proposing to rescind certain provisions of it's 2017 final rule governing “Payday, Vehicle Title, and Certain High-Cost Installment Loans.” Specifically, the Bureau is proposing to rescind the rule’s requirements that lenders make certain underwriting determinations before issuing payday, single-payment vehicle title, and longer-term balloon payment loans, which may open the floodgates for many more unscrupulous payday lenders to enter the market.

Foggie will take you step-by-step through the solution, Payday Alternative Loans (PALs), that all credit unions should be using to help its consumers shy away from the often times “vicious cycle” of lending often seen in the payday lenders’ world.

This is a recorded session, that will be available for access to NJCUL members the week following the live session along with previous recorded compliance webinars.
