Minimum Wage Luncheon
Wednesday, July 24, 2019
11:30am to 02:30pm
In February, Governor Phil Murphy made good on a campaign promise to increase the state’s minimum wage to $15 per hour. The new ”living wage” will be phased-in over five years with the first increase kicking in July 1 when the state’s minimum wage goes up to $10 per hour. Some businesses such as Amazon and Walmart are voluntarily increasing workers’ pay. With the nation’s unemployment rate at a record low, employers find themselves competing for qualified help.
Join us to discuss the new law, the phase-in and limited exceptions, as well as how credit unions plan to compete for qualified front-line staff.
