Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union and Neighboring CUs Bring Reality Fair Back to Fernwood Middle School

EGG HARBOR, N.J. – Jersey Shore FCU held a Reality Fair at Fernwood Middle School for students on Friday, reaching more than 250 students. This was the second Fair that Jersey Shore FCU and other local credit unions have hosted at this school.

The event allowed students to choose a career, receive a salary and pretend to go through life, stopping by booths to purchase cars, rent homes, finance furniture with the goal of making good, financial choices that left them with some money in their pockets.

Volunteers from the sponsoring credit union as well as Bay Atlantic FCU, Campbell Employees FCU, Members 1st FCU, Credit Union of New Jersey, the New Jersey Credit Union League, and faculty members from the school manned the booths set-up in the school’s gymnasium.

More photos from the Reality Fair can be found on the New Jersey Credit Union Foundation Facebook page.

The Foundation and New Jersey credit unions have two more Reality Fairs planned before the end of the school year on the dates listed below. If you are interested in volunteering for one of these Fairs, please reach out to Foundation Executive Director Marissa Anema.
