CUs Can Find Voting Info at

With election day tomorrow, CUNA’s “Credit Unions Vote” campaign is still underway, and voters can use CUNA’s Web site to make the process easier. The site lets visitors enter basic information to check voter registration status, find their polling place, tweet about voting and more.

image004CUNA launched the site as part of its “Credit Unions Vote” Member Activation Program campaign, used by a number of credit unions to engage with members and fulfill social responsibilities in their communities.

CUNA, the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC), along with leagues and credit unions have invested $7 million this cycle to support 388 candidates for the House and Senate this year. A list by state of candidates supported by credit unions can be found on CUNA’s 2018 Elections Web page.

While the NJ Credit Union League has never formally endorsed political candidates, CULAC support is an indication that a candidate is sensitive to the public policy concerns of credit unions. CULAC has supported the following congressional candidates in tomorrow’s election:

  • District 1: Donald Norcross
  • District 2: Jeff Van Drew
  • District 3: Tom MacArthur
  • District 5: Josh Gottheimer
  • District 6: Frank Pallone
  • District 7: Leonard Lance
  • District 9: Bill Pascrell, Jr.
  • District 10: Donald Payne, Jr.
  • District 11: Mikie Sherrill
  • District 12: Bonnie Watson Coleman
  • U.S. Senate: Robert Menendez

The NJCUL also publishes a Lawmaker Scorecard where credit union voters can check how incumbents from the Garden State have voted on key credit union issues over the years.
