MacArthur-Kim Race Still Too Close to Call

New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District race is still too close to call.

As of late Friday, Democratic Challenger Andy Kim held a lead of 3,424 votes over Republican Tom MacArthur, 150,311 to 146,887.

Election workers in Ocean and Burlington counties are expected to finish counting the remaining ballots in the next day or two. Kim declared victory Wednesday, but MacArthur has not conceded.

A two-term incumbent, MacArthur won re-election two years ago with 60 percent of the vote, a 20 percent margin over his Democrat challenger.

MacArthur serves on the House Financial Services Committee and has been a credit union supporter.
