CUNA Engaged with Kraninger Testimony, Data Breach Hearing this Week

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Director Kathy Kraninger will make her first appearance before Congress as director this week, before the House Financial Services Committee Thursday. Kraninger is scheduled to make her first appearance as director before the Senate Banking Committee next week.

In addition, CUNA will be engaged with a Senate Homeland Security sub-committee on investigations hearing titled, “Examining Private Sector Data Breaches.” Representatives from Equifax and Marriott International – both of which experienced data breaches that exposed millions of consumers' records – are among the witnesses that will testify. The hearing is scheduled for Thursday (10:00 a.m.) and will be streamed live on the committee’s Web site.

CUNA will also pay close attention to the House Financial Services Committee’s Wednesday (10:00 a.m.) mark-up on the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget Views and Estimates.
