Capitol Hill Lawmakers, Regulators Join List of Confirmed GAC Speakers

Several notable policymakers from the regulatory and legislative arenas are confirmed as speakers at the 2019 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC), which will be held March 10-14 in Washington, D.C.

CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle will lead a panel discussion with NCUA board Chairman J. Mark McWatters and board member Rick Metsger. Small Business Administration Administrator Linda McMahon will also speak during the general session.

Confirmed Congressional speakers at CUNA's GAC include:

  • Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), chairman of the Senate Banking Committee;
  • Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.), member of the Senate Banking and Appropriations Committees;
  • Rep. Lacy Clay (D-Mo.), member of the House Financial Services Committee;
  • Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.), member of the House Committee on Agriculture;
  • Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-Mich.), member of the House Financial Services Committee;
  • Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-Mo.), ranking member of the House Financial Services sub-committee on consumer protection and financial institutions;
  • Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.), ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee;
  • Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-Colo.), member of the House Financial Services Committee; and
  • Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.), member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

Keynote speakers already confirmed include former Secretary of State John Kerry, author Malcolm Gladwell, mountaineer Alison Levine and former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino.
