CFPB Director to Share Vision for Bureau Today

CFPB Director Kathy Kraninger will make her first public remarks this morning at an event hosted by the Bipartisan Policy Center.

In a keynote address, Kraninger is expected to share her vision for the Bureau and cover key issues that she plans to focus on, including:

  • protecting consumers from bad actors;
  • providing clear rules to financial institutions and non-bank lenders; and
  • empowering consumers to make sound financial decisions.

The event will be webcast and includes a discussion featuring panelists from a variety of policy and financial institutions following Kraninger's remarks. Moderated by Peter Schroeder, Financial Regulation Correspondent for Reuters, panelists will include:

  • Richard Fischer, Senior Partner, Morrison & Foerster;
  • Linda Jun, Senior Policy Counsel, Americans for Financial Reform;
  • Kate Prochaska, Vice President & Regulatory Counsel, Center for Capital Market Competitiveness at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; and
