Faster Payments, Remittances RFI Focus of CFPB’s CUAC Meeting

The CFPB's advisory committees begin a two-day meeting today. 

The Credit Union Advisory Council (CUAC), the Community Bank Advisory Council and the Consumer Advisory Board will meet separately today. The CUAC will discuss faster payments, the bureau's request for information (RFI) on remittances and initiatives to increase consumers' savings. Tomorrow the advisory councils will jointly meet to discuss the debt collection proposal, the bureau's efforts to educate consumers on financial issues and trends in the mortgage market. Additional information including a link to view the meeting on-line information is available here.

The CFPB renewed the CUAC's charter in March and opened applications for new council members. The application process closed May 5.
