USAID Procurement Reform Efforts Underway, Credit Unions Asked to Contact Their Member of Congress

The U.S. House is pursuing procurement reform at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). CUNA has been working closely with the World Council of Credit Unions (WCOCU) to try to make changes that enable them to more easily access funding for projects that help advance cooperative finance.

Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA), a longtime credit union supporter, has circulated a Dear Colleague letter in support of USAID procurement reform to allow credit union organizations the ability to compete. CUNA and the WCOCU are asking credit unions to reach out to their member of Congress and urge them to sign onto the Dear Colleague letter.

A sample letter is available here and background information here.
