NJCFE Welcomes Scott Cohen and David Vinokurov to Board of Directors

TRENTON, N.J. – The New Jersey Coalition for Financial Education (NJCFE) is welcoming Scott Cohen and David Vinokourov to serve on its Board of Directors.

Scott Cohen has extensive experience in the fields of education and networking. He has worked in the South Orange-Maplewood school district since 2008, first conducting research regarding AP testing data, and now serving as a Business Education teacher. Over his time teaching personal finance, he has taught nearly 90 classes and a total of 2000 students.

David Vinokurov is extremely familiar with the inner workings of personal finance. He worked with the Social Security Administration from 1991 until 2017, serving as a District Manager from 2009 to 2017. He also worked as a Deputy Area Director, where he coordinated and built networks with major corporations, nonprofits, and government agencies.

The NJCFE’s goal is to promote personal finance education for people of all ages across the state of New Jersey, and the Board of Directors plays a key role in ensuring its success. The Board, which consists of elected and appointed individuals who have a connection to personal finance, education, or both, holds several meetings each year to plan out events that the NJCFE hosts and to position the organization to the cutting edge of financial literacy.

In recent years, events have included a teacher’s Institute, where teachers can learn about exciting new developments in the world of personal finance education as well as network, and several Financial Literacy Roundtables, which feature lively discussion set around a given topic, such as cryptocurrency.

NJCFE is a long-time partner in financial education with the New Jersey Credit Union Foundation.
