11 CU Professionals from Three CUs Pass Complete First Round of Financial Counselor Training

HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. – Credit union professionals from Credit Union of New Jersey, First Atlantic FCU, Local 1233 FCU, and NJCUL completed Part 1 of Financial Counselor Training (FiCEP) offered here in New Jersey through a partnership between NJCUL, the National Credit Union Foundation, and CUNA.

The group of 11 professionals passed their exams for the first four modules: Introduction to Financial Counseling, Financial Counseling Essentials, Special Issues in Financial Counseling, and Using Communication Skills During Financial Counseling.

Final exams will be taken at the League office on Tuesday, October 3. Upon completion of the final exam with a passing grade, these students will earn their designation as Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors (CCUFCs).

This is the fourth year the League has partnered with the National CU Foundation and CUNA to bring the FiCEP program to New Jersey. Over 50 CU professionals have become certified in the state since 2014.
