League’s Leaders Series on NJ 101.5 FM Spotlights Essex County Teachers Federal Credit Union President/CEO Bob Steeves

HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. – Essex County Teachers Federal Credit Union President/CEO Bob Steeves is the latest NJCUL-member credit union leader to interview with popular NJ 101.5 FM radio host—and proud member of multiple credit unions—Bill Spadea as part of the League’s Leaders Series.

In his interview, Steeves shares a story about how Essex County Teachers FCU helped a couple in a time of need. He explains why a credit union is more willing to take risks and work with their members versus a bank. "We do it for our members because we answer to our members. We don't answer to stockholders. I think that's the big difference."

A video of the interview can be found on the League’s YouTube channel. The audio segment was recorded by NJ 101.5 FM and will run on-air in the upcoming weeks.

This is the fifth Leaders Series segment of 2018 and the 11th overall since the program launched in early 2017. Videos of past segments are all available on the League’s YouTube Channel. If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, please reach out to NJCUL Vice President of Marketing & Communication Marissa Anema at manema@njcul.org to set-up an interview.

The Leaders Series highlights the credit union difference by demonstrating how much our CEOs care about the financial well-being of their members, versus how bank CEOs see their customers as just a source of profit.
