NJCUL and PCUA to Combine Forces, Forming One Organization

HIGHTSTOWN, N.J. & HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Boards of Directors of the New Jersey Credit Union League (NJCUL) and Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA) announced Monday they have entered into an agreement to create one of the largest regional credit union trade associations in the country.

The new organization will bring together the strengths of two strong trade associations to enhance value to credit unions in both states. The combination will result in greater scale and synergy, as well as create a progressive, forward-looking organization with the resources to continue to improve the products and services we provide to our credit unions.

More information on the vision of the new organization, including a video message from NJCUL President/CEO David Frankil and PCUA President/CEO Patrick Conway, is available at www.PANJCreditUnions.com.

The two Boards of Directors entered into a non-binding letter of intent to bring the two organizations together in December 2018.

The membership of both NJCUL and PCUA must vote in favor of the transaction for it to be consummated. Membership votes will be held in May and if approved, the transaction will be effective January 1, 2020.

NJCUL Chairman Andy Jaeger and NJCUL President/CEO David Frankil will be providing an overview of the plan for the new organization at the upcoming Member-only CEO Events scheduled for April 11th, April 12th, and April 24th. These events, as well as a new webinar on April 18th, will function as Town Hall Meetings, giving New Jersey credit unions the opportunity to hear from NJCUL on the plan and to ask questions.
