Jersey Shore FCU Chairman John C. DiNofrio Retires After 53 Years of Credit Union Service

NORTHFIELD, N.J. – On April 1 of this year, the Chairman of the Board John C. DiNofrio officially retired from Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union (JSFCU). Later that month, he was honored at a testimonial dinner that celebrated his more than 53 years of service to the credit union movement. All of those 53 years were directly or indirectly tied to JSFCU.

During that span of 53 years, DiNofrio served credit unions on the national, state and local levels. On the national level, he served with the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) on a number of different committees. On the state level, he had a role in the establishment of the New Jersey Credit Union Foundation where he served as Chairman from 2003-2008. DiNofrio also served several terms as Chairman of the New Jersey Credit Union League (NJCUL) Board of Directors. He was also a key player on various NJCUL Political Committees and was a member in Congressional delegations for New Jersey. DiNofrio’s dedication lead him to numerous awards on each of those levels, including his recent induction into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders in Washington, DC and as a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the NJCUL.

Mr. DiNofrio’s dedication and his “people helping people” commitment to the industry along with his multitude of contributions has help to mold the foundation of Jersey Shore Federal Credit Union as a strong and growing credit union.
