The credit union also took time to highlight their new Credit Score Analysis program to help both members and prospective members with their credit scores and finances.

PFCU Chief Operating Officer, Patricia Finaldi, spoke with NJCUL Communications and Marketing Specialist Natalie Spangenberg about the new program and bringing that awareness to their members to help them better achieve their financial goals. “It’s a free service we provide to members and prospective members to help them review their credit report to determine whether we can raise their FICO score, lower their monthly payments on their debt obligations, or eliminate some of their debt, and the wonderful thing is we do all the work, we just ask someone to opt-in and help us. Again, you don’t need to be a member to benefit from the program. We do all the work on the back-end. We pull a credit report that won’t affect their credit score, which is called a 'soft pull', and then we do a little analysis, and contact them back and invite them in.

"We were just able this week to save a member about four-hundred dollars on her car payment. We were very happy to do that, and those kinds of savings translate into thousands of dollars over the course of a loan.

"We also helped a member just yesterday, who came in asking about a home improvement loan, look at her entire financial picture. She told us she wanted to retire in eight years and based on the way we were able to restructure and help her with a personal loan, we were able to get her on a five-year plan for retirement. So, it’s an incredibly effective program that we’re happy to offer to anyone.”
