Urban Promise Academy Students Experience Their First Reality Fair

CAMDEN, N.J. – Nearly 50 high school students at the Urban Promise Academy in Camden, N.J. took part in the school’s first ever Reality Fair on Tuesday, December 6th.

The students met in the school’s auditorium and were briefed on the experience. They were then set loose in the school’s gymnasium to use their customized budget worksheets to create their lifestyles while visiting the available booths.

The Reality Fair, sponsored by South Jersey FCU, was made possible by volunteers from the credit union and their community partners as well as staff from the New Jersey Credit Union League and Urban Promise Academy.

With a little help from the volunteers, students made life choices by filling out their budget worksheets and then sitting down with financial counselors to go over the experience.
