CUNA News Now Highlights NJ CUs’ Hike-the-Hill

WASHINGTON – In an article posted to News Now, titled “CUs, leagues from N.J., Dakotas Hike the Hill in Washington, D.C.”, CUNA highlights the New Jersey Credit Union League’s annual Hike-the-Hill that took place last week.

Credit union advocates traveled to Washington Tuesday for a day of meetings with the offices of the New Jersey’s congressional delegation as part of continuing CUNA/league advocacy efforts into the new Congress.

“Visiting Capitol Hill in December is a great opportunity to spend some quality time with our elected representatives and their staff. The pace is often a bit slower, which allows for more extensive exploration of credit union issues,” David Frankil, president/CEO of the New Jersey Credit Union League, told CUNA. “This year was no exception, with follow-up on everything from the New Jersey delegation NCUA letter on taxi medallions to American with Disabilities Act compliance and data breaches.

“We also had the opportunity to visit with newly-elected members of the New Jersey delegation, and in particular two members of our Hike-the-Hill team were able to visit with Congresswoman-elect Mikie Sherrill at her appreciation event,” he added.

New Jersey’s Congressional delegation will have four new members in the 116th Congress.
